Bike Review: 2025 Honda Hornet 2.0 Launched

Honda has launched the 2025 Hornet 2.0 at a price of Rs 1,56,953 (ex-showroom Delhi). The price has increased by Rs 13,502 over the previous version, which is quite significant. The motorcycle now has a lot more features and is being offered in 4 new colour options. Let’s take a look at what the new Hornet 2.0 has to offer.

Honda Hornet 2.0 Design

For 2025, Honda has not changed the design of the Hornet 2.0. The motorcycle gets LED lights all around and is still quite sharp and well designed. The proper streetfighter look of the Hornet 2.0 makes it quite attractive. It now has 4 new attractive colour options: Pearl Igneous Black, Radiant Red Metallic, Athletic Blue Metallic and Matte Axis Grey Metallic.

Performance

The new Honda Hornet 2.0 features the same 184.40cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that has now been tuned to comply with OBD-2B emission norms. This engine produces 17PS at 8,500rpm and 15.7Nm at 6,000rpm. Previously, this engine has been praised for its linear power delivery and refinement. This engine gets a 5-speed gear with slip and assist clutch. Compared to the previous version, this bike has seen a marginal drop in power and torque, coming down from 17.2PS to 17PS and 15.9Nm to 15.7Nm.

Honda Hornet 2.0 Features

For 2025, Honda has added several new features to the Hornet 2.0. It features a 4.2-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth and supports Honda’s RoadSync app as well as turn-by-turn navigation and SMS and call alerts. The Hornet 2.0 also features updated rider aids like dual-channel ABS and switchable traction control, which Honda calls HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control).

What’s Unchanged

The underpinnings of the Honda Hornet 2.0 still remain the same. It features golden coloured USD forks and a rear monoshock. It uses a lightweight diamond type frame. For braking duties, this motorcycle features a 276mm front and 220mm rear disc brake setup with dual channel ABS. The Hornet 2.0 features a fuel tank with a capacity of 12 litres and weighs 142 kg, which is quite light for a motorcycle in this segment.

Conclusion on Honda Hornet 2.0

The launch price of Rs 1,56,953 (ex-showroom Delhi) makes the 2025 Hornet 2.0 significantly more expensive than the previous model. Despite the price hike, the motorcycle is not a better option than its rivals. For reference, it does not have adjustable front suspension and produces much less power and torque when compared to its main rival, the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.

In India, the Honda Hornet 2.0 competes with the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and the TVS RTR 200 4V.
